Opportunity to work directly with the CEO and executive team to set strategic direction and execute on initiatives for a large-scale produce business.
Lipman's VP of Corporate Development will report to the CEO, Elyse Lipman and the executive team to develop and execute strategic initiatives.
Responsibilities will include analyzing new and existing market opportunities, financial, market and operational analysis, strategic partnerships, as well as identifying, sourcing, negotiating, structuring, and executing strategic acquisitions/investments across Lipman's businesses and geographies in the US, Mexico, and Canada.
The best candidate for this position has experience managing multiple projects, transactions, and outside relationships.
Creative analysis, independent thought, and a proactive approach to adding value to the organization are key elements of this position.
Responsibilities - General Support Lipman's growth strategy through identification, assessment and execution of potential mergers, acquisitions, investments and joint ventures as well as divestitures by the company Establish and lead a robust and comprehensive process to identify and evaluate potential opportunities, which includes a rigorous idea generation and screening process that will bring quality acquisition and investment ideas to the Lipman management team Collaborate with the CEO, COO, and the Senior Business Unit Leaders to think about corporate development opportunities in a progressive, systematic and routine fashion.
Build relationships with each business unit to keep an ongoing flow of ideas that is aligned with the business units' objectives.
Partner with business leaders before, during and after the M&A processes, to ensure the deals make strategic sense, fit with the forward-looking business plans, and are integrated smoothly and fully optimized Lead cross-functional teams in developing acquisition business case analyses and executing and interfacing with finance, accounting, legal, tax, HR and other departments of Lipman to ensure seamless deal execution.
Evaluate and execute other strategic initiatives such as joint ventures, divestitures, licensing and partnership activities Manage key deliverables including creating analyses, overseeing execution and identifying next steps in process flow Play a key role in all of Lipman's M&A activities and provide general transaction and analytic support to leadership team including the creation of summaries and presentation materials to communicate recommendations to the board and other stakeholders Financial Financial modeling for M&A, joint ventures, project development and financing activities Assisting Business Development in pricing strategy and assessment of credit risk Strategic Planning Serve as an integral member of company's strategic planning effort to identify, assess, and prioritize growth opportunities Take increasing responsibility in leading screening assessments Market Research and Analysis Competitor analysis Industry trends in key target markets Assessment of alternative business models - most effective ways of selling company's products/services to customers Other Assist in creating presentation materials for executive management, potential partners and customers.
Improvement of internal processes including Pricing models used by business development Long term financial planning Assessment of financial results Core Qualifications Bachelor's Degree Required, Master's degree in business or equivalent preferred 4
years' experience in investment banking, private equity or corporate development Superior analytical and problem solving skills, with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigor Ability to structure and manage complex cross-enterprise projects and processes with multiple stakeholders at both senior and junior levels Excellent presentation skills, including strong oral and writing capabilities; ability to clearly communicate compelling messages to senior managers and external business partners Deal structuring experience $50MM
Must demonstrate ability to work in a team environment and willingness to assume additional or new responsibilities readily.
Excellent communication (both oral and written), interpersonal and organizational skills.
Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast paced, changing environment and be detail oriented.
